Admit it. When you first saw Toy Story you thought it was just a movie about cute toys that can talk. By the time you get to Toy Story 2 and they get to the sequence featuring this song it hits you like a ton of bricks, and you realize what the movie is really all about and you never look at the relationship between a kid and his toys the same way again. check out the song "don't throw out my Lego's" for a similar theme. When my sons were little and we’d watch Toy Story this song always made me cry because it made me think about the fact that one day they would grow up. One day they wouldn’t need me anymore. One day they wouldn’t want to be with me all the time. I’m 43 now and they are 20 and 23 and I’m living those times I dreaded. They are so much more painful than I ever even thought they would be. Now I have a 2 year old granddaughter who is the light of my life and I can’t help but think that one day it will be the same with her too. I love and appreciate every moment and every stage of life I have with my children. I just miss the closeness we shared when they were young. It’s gone too fast. I remember hearing someone say something like to you, your children are your whole world but to your children you are only a small part of theirs and it’s so sad but so true
